Facebook Facebooks About Schools on Facebook
For the past few months, Facebook has focused marketing efforts on the education community. And since that shift, they have spent time identifying the real movers and shakers using Facebook to add practical value to educators around the world. We were interviewed by their marketing team to learn more about how our application, Schools, benefits colleges and universities. The interview was informative for both us and them, as there are over a million developers on the platform. As a result, this sparked a series of mentions on Facebook’s various marketing channels to highlight our innovation in the market.
Our background

Working with Facebook
In October, we discovered that Schools on Facebook works on the new Facebook for iPhone 3.0 application, and our write-up on the discovery was recognized by Facebook’s platform marketing team because of it’s implications to developers around the world. Also that week, we were told about a story from Arizona State University and their experience using Schools on Facebook with 50 instructors on campus.

This month, when Facebook launched their Education page, a video we released was featured to the page’s growing fanship. And after this month’s developer’s garage where the roadmap was announced, a member of Facebook’s marketing team wrote Get Educated on Facebook. This blog post highlighted the most creative uses of education on Facebook, which included our application, Schools.
While it’s good to be recognized for disrupting the higher ed market, and working hard to make today’s technologies useful to our clients, the best is yet to come. As we continue to help colleges and universities solve their business problems using Facebook, we look forward to playing our part in building the industry that has become social media in higher education.
