Facebook for College Admissions: Lunch 2.0 Meeting at Xobni

Last week, a Reuters article reported on nationwide phenomena that in the past years have become more and more common–startups. The article’s main premise is that behind this wave of entrepreneurship are recent college graduates and even current college students who, in a time of economy and high unemployment rates, are taking advantage of the “globalization of information and the advent of social media” to turn an idea into a business.

After months of talking to my parents in depth, as well as advisors and mentors, the decision was pretty clear — my only option was to go to college, and so here I am, ready to go to College of San Mateo in the fall. Now that I know where I’m going to school, I wish I knew more then twenty people that will be attending the same school as me, and would love to find entrepreneurial people like me to meet, and share ideas with.

Funny thing is, I had — and still have — so many friends who shared my belief about Twitter’s uselessness.

The Hidden Truth About Facebook Fan Pages

Facebook for College Admissions: UCLA News Feed

When it comes to my hundreds of friends and dozens of groups, I am constantly bombarded with News Feed stories by the second. While some of these stories interest me, those that do not are mostly Fan Page stories. To understand why that is, I decided to take a look at the Fan Pages I “fan” and how they communicate.

Meet Inigral’s Student Bloggers

Facebook for College Admissions: Student Collage

One of my favorite reasons for working with colleges and universities on their Facebook efforts is meeting awesome students, as it wasn’t too long ago that I was in their shoes in the classroom. Because students are the lifeblood of all things education, we’ve taken some time in this post to let you know more about the students on Inigral’s student blogging squad, starting with the fact that they all have the best smiles on either side of the Mississippi river!
